For the Artists

We invite you to be a part of Highland’s Annual Street Art Festival! This unique event is an opportunity for you to share your talent and enthusiasm in creating works of art, using chalk as your medium, for a strolling family audience. Applications are now being taken at the Professional, Amateur over age 24, Amateur age 23-19 and Young Artist age 18-14 levels. An application is required from every person who participates, including helpers, click here to complete the application.

NEW FOR 2019: We are now accepting application for NOVICE ARTISTS. You can apply to work with a mentor during the Street Art Festival. Click here for the application form. Novice artists MUST BE AT LEAST 12 years old.

Artwork will be judged utilizing a point system with points assigned based on originality, composition, meaning, expression of emotion, finish and overall impression. Street Paintings will be judged Saturday evening beginning at 4 p.m. Prizes will be awarded at the close of the event on Saturday evening.  The SAF committee reserves the right to suspend judging due to inclement weather.

Artists completing high quality artwork will be recognized and awarded cash prizes as described below:
